Beads Glorious Beads!

Are you having a Girly Party or a Sleepover? Looking for an activity for the girls to do at the party?
How about some cool jewellery making, girls of all ages love designing and making their own fashion accessories.

Design Your Own Jewellery, Key Rings etc

It is possible to make gorgeous jewellery without all the professional tools. See our examples at the bottom of this page which have been made with just 1mm black threading cord and a selection of different beads and buttons. Different mixtures give a variety of results. All of them have been tied and finished simply with a loop and a knot. Easy ideas for children to make their own jewellery.

Try putting out a fun choice of beads in different bowls, e.g. wooden multi-coloured beads, alphabet beads, dice beads, pony beads (used as spacers) and maybe even some buttons. The kids will mix and fix to their hearts content. Add some simple knots here and there for an extra funky look.

Beads are a great craft activity for lots of ideas, not just jewellery making:

String up some alphabet beads on cord or ribbon and tie as a tassel on a book spine or as a bookmark
