Information | Kids with birthday's in December are in for a treat! How about a Santa's Grotto Party?
| Booking a venue in December can be challenging for a kids party so why not throw your child's party at home. As the house is already decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree, twinkle lights, holly, mistletoe etc, it would be so easy to use this fun festive mood for the party. With the scent of cinnamon and the sound of Christmas music (Alvin and the Chipmunks have a great Christmas CD the kids will love) playing in the background, the children will feel like they have stepped into Santa's Grotto from the moment they walk in. All you need now are some little Elves for the workshops! | Grotto ideas: Set up some different workshop areas for the kids to move round to and experience some cool activities.
|
Craft Corner: Pottery Hanging Decorations Paint and decorate some fun Christmas decorations. Shake on some glitter and hang on your Christmas Tree. The kids will love them.
Click pottery photo to see all Christmas Craft Ideas from KidzCraft. | | Dressing Up: Invite your friends to come dressed as an Elf, a Reindeer, a Snowman etc. Or make an Elf hat or Reindeer antlers etc at the party.
Face Painting: Kids love it! Paint on a red nose for Rudolph, some pink cheeks for Elves and white faces for Snowmen. | | Cooking Corner: Christmas Cookies Make a large batch of cookie dough and get the kids to roll it out and cut out shapes e.g. Gingerbread Man, Christmas Tree, Santa. Once baked, the kids can decorate with frosty icing and some festive cake decorations | |
P A R T Y G A M E S :
| Pin the Nose on Rudolph game - draw and paint a large reindeer and make several red noses each with a child's name on and play this fun blindfold game (adaptation from the original Pin the Tail on the Donkey).
| The Big Jelly Bean Challenge - fill a large jar with hundreds of jelly beans making it look so bright and colourful the kids eyes will bulge out. Ask all the children to guess the number of beans in the jar. At the end of the party reveal the right number and give the jar of beans to the child with the closest guess.
| Stocking Stuffer Relay - Divide the kids into 2 teams. Hang a stocking (per each team) on a hook or chair at least 10 feet away from the teams. Place the same amount and identical stocking stuffers on the floor next to the teams. On command Go, the first player in each team will choose any item from his team's pile, run over to his team's stocking, and stuff the item in the stocking. He then runs back and tags the next player on his team, who chooses any item from the pile and stuffs it in the stocking, and so on.
| Carol Singing - "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way" - take the kids all dressed up around the neighbours houses to do a little carol singing (for charity of course!).
| | Use the festive fun of December to make a really great birthday party for your child. | |
